What happens when a bishop is so radically in favor of the poor that it gets him in trouble with the church? He becomes the front runner as a presidential candidate. Reading this article warmed my heart. Yale can be a cold place where solidarity, the preferential option for the poor, and social justice are utterly foreign concepts. Perhaps news like this can wake Elis up.
